Hope Was Here

The only reason that i wanted to read this book was because my name was in it but so far it has actually turned out to be very good. It is called Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer. It is about a 16 year old girl named Hope who grows up living with her aunt because her mother couldn't afford to have a baby at the young age that she had Hope. Her aunt's name is Addie, and she is a waitress. At the end of Hope's sophomore year of High School, they decided to move because of a waitressing job that Addie gets. Addie and Hope both work at a diner called the Welcome Stairways. The owner of the restaraunt is G.T. Stoop. G.T. has leukemia and starts to date Addie. Also, Hope has a boyfriend named Braverman who is the cook at Welcome Stairways. Everyone is very surprised when G.T. says he wants to run for mayor against the former mayor Eli Millstone. People don't want him to because of how sick he is, but he goes through with it anyway. If you want to know more about the book read my next post.
